There is no better way to stimulate your childÕs imagination then through the exploration of playing with soft clay. Young children learn that poking, squishing, rolling, pinching and pretending can transform clay. Children will explore the relationship between tools and clay, such as rolling pins, cookie cutters, stamps, sticks, gadgets and water. Through trial and error children will learn important information about clay properties, how clay bends, how it feels, children will develop problem-solving skills, and fine motor skills. This is a class where child and parent spend quality time playing and creating together. Clay is therapeutic for both parent and child and we encourage all to enjoy, relax and not worry about the finished product, but the process along the way.

This is the perfect class for the budding young artist. This is an entry-level drawing class, which will instruct students step by step how to draw, and the fundamentals of using the pencil to sketch and design. Students will learn contour line drawing, easy perspective, composition, shape and value. Students will also draw subjects, which inspire them and develop their artistic confidence. In this class students will be given free range to use their imagination and be trained to think visually to produce this own beautiful and unique drawings. Art history will also be a part of the daily lesson, which makes this class beneficial to all students.

It's Clay Time! Each week you and your child will have fun creating beautiful 3-dimensional projects from whimsical animals to functional vases and plates and much more. Both the interaction with other students and hands-on instruction provide an exciting environment for the beginning artist. All projects are decorated, glazed and fired. This popular class is for kids who cannot get enough art! We have developed a series of mixed media, hands-on fun filled art projects that will inspire and alert young artists. Children try out different art mediums as they get an opportunity to explore clay, tempera paints, acrylics, color pencils, stamps-inks, crayons, and pastels while developing a rich imagination. They will also be introduced to drawing, painting, collage and ceramics all in a stimulating environment. Our goal is to give each child the opportunity to express themselves and experience enjoyment and personal growth through the arts.

Working with clay is an art form like no other, and this unique program uses clay as the primary medium. This popular class will teach students to take a three-dimensional approach to art. Kids will explore the dynamics of clay and the joy of creating projects using pinch, coil and slab construction techniques. The goal of this class is to bring out each childÕs creative side through exploration, encouragement, skill development, and structure. All projects will be decorated, glazed, and fired.

Have you ever wanted to make a pot on the potterÕs wheel? Feel the clay through your fingers as it spins on the wheel? Get ready to have a blast, because this is the class for you. Students will first focus on wedging the clay, centering, pulling basic forms, trimming and glazing. Students will learn to throw cylinders, bowls, and handles for cups. All completed pieces will be glazed and fired.

We guarantee the ultimate art experience! Students will create dynamic works of art from the whimsical to the functional! During this camp we will explore of a variety of art materials such as clay, painting, paper mache, collage, mosaic etc. There are several fun art projects planned for the week. During the camp there will be some down time to play some games, parachute, dance, musical chairs, etc. All happy campers should bring a snack with a drink. Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy.
Can't sign up for our Monday- Friday Ultimate Art Camp? Then pick the day/days of your choice and join us for a half day camp. Then just drop-in; the cost is $60 per day . Includes project for that day, games, friends and fun. Must have advanced reservations. Please call 408-370-5002 to reserve your spot.
Note: Art takes time. We will do our best to have a complete project but sometimes it takes another day to finish. If your child doesn't finish your choices are:
1.Sign up another day that week to finish the project; 2. Pay for walk-in open studio (must be completed in 2 weeks); 3. You can take it as is or; 4. We can finish it for you.

Beginners - come join us in this introductory class!  Individualized instruction is given using a throwing technique that will give you great results!  Each class will focus on different forms from small cylinders and bowls to larger pieces.  Clay is both relaxing and therapeutic.  All completed projects will glazed and fired.   Additional 1 hour practice time per week available during open studio hours.

Students will design and create their own mosaic pieces. Class will focus on basic designs for mosaics, using different types of materials and surfaces. Using mosaic tools you will learn to cut glass, break plates and tile. Advance students will lay patterns and create unique pieces of art. No experience necessary, beginning and returning students welcome. Materials fee covers all materials necessary to take the class and is paid to instructor at the first class.

A fun filled class for those just beginning to the more advanced practioners. In this 2 session class you will learn how to design, arrange and grout your mirror using a variety of materials.
